At Plastic Surgery of the Face & Body, we are proud to offer a variety of professional chemical peels to help patients achieve healthier, brighter, and more radiant-looking skin. Chemical peels use specialized solutions to exfoliate the outermost damaged layers of skin, helping to improve texture, tone, and overall skin appearance. As one of the least invasive skin rejuvenation treatments available, chemical peels can address concerns such as dullness, uneven pigmentation, fine lines, and sun damage.

Most peel treatments take approximately 30 minutes and are performed conveniently in our office. While commonly used on the face, chemical peels can also be applied to the neck, hands and body. Because peels are available in varying strengths, our clinical skincare specialists will evaluate your skin and recommend the treatment best suited to your individual needs and goals. Our team is dedicated to providing a personalized experience and helping you achieve beautiful results while ensuring your comfort every step of the way.

Our full range of superficial peels can help your complexion appear more uniform and renewed—diminishing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and roughness.

Professional peels can help improve the appearance of:

  • Age and liver spots

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Freckles

  • Irregular skin pigmentation

  • Rough skin and scaly patches

  • Scars

  • Sun-damaged skin

We proudly offer the following chemical peels:

Dr. Nagy is the best at what he does! He has a wonderful bedside manner and was extremely awesome with all of my questions. I’m a little over one week post op and already so incredibly happy with my results. The office is impeccable and beautiful. The staff is friendly and always helpful. Big shout out to Kim, she went above and beyond - from being reassuring, caring, friendly and so so patient with insane amounts of nerves and questions that I had. She’s the best! From consult to post op, they are a phenomenal team that I would highly recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM SKINMEDICA® PEELS?

Chemical peels address the visible skin imperfections that result from skin aging and sun exposure, such as fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture. Peels also address skin tone unevenness that can be caused by acne scarring or pigmentary changes.  Your aesthetician will discuss with you which peel will best meet your skin needs.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A PEEL?

Any procedures and products that may increase skin sensitivity should be avoided before your peel treatment. Ask your physician or skin care specialist for details.

HOW CAN I PROTECT MY SKIN POST PEEL?

Since new skin is more susceptible to sunburn, extra precautions should be taken to limit sun exposure for at least one week after the peel. Using a broad spectrum sunscreen product with an SPF 30 or higher is recommended.

VI PEEL

VI Peel

The Prescription for Ultimate Skin

Michael Nagy, MD, Plastic Surgery of the Skin & Body has added another option when treating skin concerns, the VI Peel.  It is certainly not a “one size fits all” when it comes to treating skin concerns, as different skin types and issues require different solutions. Chemical peels have always been part of our med spa service offering, but many lack customization that is needed for patients.  The VI Peel is the #1 chemical peel for plastic surgeons, dermatologists, nurses and aestheticians world-wide!  This chemical peel provides options for our providers to ensure we get optimal results for our patients.  All VI Peel products are medical in-office treatments and need to be applied by a trained VI provider. Our medical aestheticians have the training and experience in peel application and adhere to all safety and application protocols at all times to ensure our patients receive the best of care.

If you are looking for smoother, brighter skin, consider having a VI Peel.  This peel is also gentle enough for those with sensitive skin or first-time peelers.  Whatever you skin concern-there is a VI Peel for you.  After your peel, you’ll have tighter, more radiant skin.  Who wouldn’t want that?

The VI Peel can treat a multitude of skin issues including:

  • Rough texture

  • Aging skin

  • Wrinkles

  • Fine lines

  • Sun damage

  • Melasma

  • Active acne

  • Acne scarring

  • Oily and congested skin

  • Hormonal acne

  • Loss of elasticity

Your VI Peel Consultation

During your consultation with one of our medical aestheticians, they will assess your skin and gain a better understanding of your skin goals.  A brief history will be taken and they will go over any contraindications regarding the VI Peel.  With that information the provider will make a recommendation as to which VI Peel would be best to help you meet those goals and achieve the optimal result.  Are you ready to Get Glowing™ with a VI Peel?  Contact us today, we are ready to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is The VI Peel Safe For Darker Skin?

Yes! ALL VI Peel treatments are safe and effective for ALL skin tones. Inclusivity is central to our brand and mission, and all Vitality Institute products are created for and with skin of color in mind.

Does The VI Peel Burn?

The VI Peel does not burn! You may experience slight warmness and tingling in the beginning, but this should quickly subside. Besides the warmness and tingling, VI Peel treatments are virtually painless.

What Will I Look Like Right After The Peel?

Immediately after the peel, your skin may look slightly tan and glowy. You will not look much different and should be okay going about your regular daily routine.

How Many Peels Do I Need to Start Seeing Results?

Everyone’s skin is a little different, and the number of peels needed for desired results varies from person to person, and from skin condition to skin condition. While just a single peel will achieve significant skin rejuvenation (think less pigment, smoother skin texture, and brighter, radiant skin overall). In general, we recommend a series of 3-6 peels for optimal results. Make sure to consult with your provider to find a VI Peel treatment frequency that’s right for you.

How Long Will I Peel?

In general, you can expect to start peeling on or around day three and peel for about three to four days afterward. Each person’s peeling experience is a little different, and some may peel for more or fewer days, depending on the condition of the skin. If this is your first VI Peel, it’s also normal to peel for a longer period of time.

Can I Peel The Skin That Is Hanging During The Peeling Process?

Do not pull back on the skin that is shedding. It is recommended to use a clean, small cuticle scissor to trim the exfoliating skin. You can also wash the face very gently to help remove the hanging skin but be sure to not rub excessively. Your provider will inform you of your post-peel treatment care. Of course, if you have any questions, please contact our office.
