AccuTite™ vs. BodyTite™: Which One is Right for Me?

Both AccuTite™ and BodyTite™ involve a minimally invasive technique called radiofrequency assisted lipoplasty (RFAL). We use RFAL to tighten the skin through the reduction of wrinkles and elimination of small deposits of fat, like cellulite, that aren’t responding to diet and exercise.

Administering RF energy stimulates collagen production in the dermal tissue, allowing the body to regenerate smoother, clearer skin. Simultaneously, this heat energy also “melts” the underlying fat tissue so that it can be suctioned out with a cannula.

What makes AccuTite™ and BodyTite™ different are the areas of the body where they are used and the size of those areas. Therefore, deciding which is right for you typically comes down to where your symptoms are located and other patient-specific factors.

Body Contouring With Dr. Nagy

Board-certified plastic surgeon and body contouring specialist Dr. Michael Nagy has a keen eye for matching patients to the best possible treatments. To decide which procedures are right for you, he will study:

  • The degree of skin laxity

  • The amount of adipose (fat) tissue that can be removed

  • Precisely where these symptoms have formed on the body

  • Your medical history

  • Your cosmetic goals

Once Dr. Nagy has considered all of these factors, he will recommend a comprehensive care strategy that is right for you. Among the numerous techniques Dr. Nagy and his expert staff perform are BodyTite™ and AccuTite™.

Where is BodyTite™ Used?

The BodyTite™ device is well-suited for larger sections of the body, such as the:

  • Stomach/abdominal region

  • Chest

  • Arms

  • Buttocks

  • Knees

  • Thighs

With its larger applicator, we can treat these areas quickly and efficiently, sometimes delivering results in multiple locations during the same appointment. On average, it takes about 15 minutes per zone.

When is AccuTite™ the Better Option?

However, AccuTite™ therapy is geared more towards fine-tuning more subtle features, thanks to the device’s smaller applicator. Using the same RFAL technology, we can strategically sculpt a patient’s face and neck as well as the:

  • Hands

  • Armpits

  • Upper arms

  • Knees

  • Labia majora and minora

Are BodyTite™ and AccuTite™ the Same as Liposuction?

The liposuction procedure also consists of removing small pockets of fat, making it somewhat similar to BodyTite™ and AccuTite™. But besides not causing a significant change in skin tightness, the methods of adipose tissue removal are also quite different during liposuction.

If Dr. Nagy decides that this treatment direction would be more appropriate for your needs, he may recommend using the tumescent technique as well as the aid of ultrasound imaging or laser energy.

Can I Get More Than One?

Many patients can benefit from receiving both AccuTite™ and BodyTite™ therapy, but usually not in the same areas of the body. For example, you might be a candidate for AccuTite™ on the back of the hands but BodyTite™ for the thighs.
